Preparing for Comps? Tip #1

It is that time of the year again. Comprehensive exams are scheduled on March 30th. For CIM master’s students, this means an intensive study of the literature from one of their two recitals. The student must prepare an analytical and historical essay for each piece.

It is time to begin collecting resources. Interlibrary loan requests must be submitted by March 9th in order for us to acquire the materials for you in a timely manner. The annotated bibliography is due on March 16th.

Tip #1 : Consult the article in Grove Music Online on your composer. Search the bibliography for resources related to the composition etc.
