Our latest library tour features photos of the Mixon Performance Hall. We enjoyed walking through this beautiful building and seeing the lobby, performance hall and lower level. It is really taking shape. This weeks photos feature pictures of both the interior and exterior of this stunning building.
The big news this week for the library renovation was the arrival of the GemTrack Compact Shelving. These units will provide shelving for our audio-visual materials in the Media Center.
We also are happy to announce that the library renovation is on schedule! We are so thankful for the excellent Donley crew.

Throughout the summer, we will be taking tours of the library facility as it is being renovated. Yesterday we enjoyed walking through both the main level and the media center (on the lower level). The demolition is complete. They have prepared the floors for future electrical and network boxes. They framing for future walls is in place. So the pictures reveals what is now the skeleton of our library.
We have a dedicated Flickr page for these photos. A few will always be featured on the right sidebar of this blog. Please feel free to comment.

What will the library staff be doing without a library? Our primary goal this summer will be to complete what is called a “retrospective conversion.” A portion of our collection has not yet been downloaded into our online library catalog. For the past year, we have collected information on these scores and books and will be transferring the information to the library catalog. We will also be adding our entire LP record collection to the online catalog.
And of course, we’ll be preparing for the new library.
