July in review
August 2, 2007
This past month, the library staff settled into our retrospective conversion project, even among vacations, unexpected workshops and the beautiful weather we experienced. Sarah, a graduate student, completed her tenure with us. Sarah is now very familiar with our LP record collection as she has handled almost each record as she initiated the cataloging process. That experience convinced her to move to Lincoln to pursue her DMA. Congratulations Sarah!
The Media Room is almost completed. The group listening rooms are being fitted with benches and acoustical tiles. The floor is carpeted. The compact shelving is nearing the stage of being completely installed. A few issues have set the completion of this space to mid-August. However, that has not impacted the long-term completion of the project.
The main level continues to take shape with additional wood work, dry wall and ceiling tiles in place. In August, the pace will increase and there will be more “to see” in our weekly tours as we prepare to open in late-August.
Last week’s tour photos have been posted. Please forgive the delay as the author misplaced her USB cable.
