Finding CDs in the Robinson Library Media Center

Would you like to be able to compare 8 different professional performances of recital pieces that you are studying? Do you wish you could find all of those recordings in one location? Look no further than the Robinson Library Media Center at CIM. Located downstairs, just off the Robinson Music Library entrance, the Media Center houses over 12,000 CDs, hundreds of DVDs, and an extensive collection of LPs of historic performances that have not been re-issued on CD. The collection also contains laser discs, video tapes, cassette tapes and reel to reel tapes, many which contain CIM performances of CIM faculty and students.

Though Compact Discs and DVDs are often the media of choice, Media Center assistants can stream any of our media collection digitally to any of 24 individual listening carrels and 2 group rooms. Additionally, online subscription resources such as Classical Music Library, Naxos Music Library, and DRAM (Database of Recorded American Music) can be accessed in the Media Center at any of the 6 PCs that also function as listening carrels. Please make a point to stop in and let us know how we can help you find what you are looking for.
