Digital Mozart Editon
Last December, an exciting new resource was announced. In the midst of juries, exams, and holiday gigs, you might have missed the good news.
A digital version of the Neue Mozart Ausgabe (the critical edition of complete works of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart) is now available for personal study and for educational and classroom use compliments of the Internationale Stiftung Mozarteum and the Packard Humanities Institute.
According to the International Stiftung Mozarteum, the Digital Mozart Edition:
“is a digital version of the Neue Mozart Ausgabe (NMA; New Mozart Edition), a scholarly edition of Mozart’s complete works that was compiled by musicologists from around the world in the last 50 years . . . It aims at facilitating the systematic research on Mozart for musicologists and performers as well as making Mozart’s scores available to non-specialists with a simple, user-friendly interface. The initiators have acquired all digital rights to the NMA from Bärenreiter-Verlag in Kassel, the publisher of the printed edition.”
Stay tuned for a more detailed description of this resource in the near future. ~Bonnie

Listen to the Norton Anthology online
Are you enrolled in a music history course that requires listening to music referenced in the Norton Anthology of Music? Look no further than the Classical Music Library. There you will find a themed playlist for the Norton Anthology of Music. The playlist is not complete. However, it does list for each NAM volume and chapter recordings that are found in the Classical Music Library’s collection. These playlists are listed under “Tools.” The Norton Anthology of Music is titled the “Companion to Grout.”
You will also find themed playlists for related music textbooks such as Bonds, Stolba, Burkhart and many others. Required listening is now just a click away.

Welcome back to CIM
We are excited to see students and faculty members returning to the library after what we hope was a relaxing break. We’d love to hear about your adventures (please post a comment).
The CIM orchestra library will open the first week of classes. Remember you can always submit request for parts to orchlib@cim.edu.
Library hours are Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 pm through Friday, January 19th. We resume normal hours on Saturday, Jan. 20th.
Our new semester due date is May 1, 2007. This date is earlier than usual due to the scheduled library renovation in the summer. All you need to borrow library materials at this time is your Spring 2007 sticker. Make sure to pick this up at the business office. In order to receive your grades & 2007 schedule, you must have returned all 2006 materials to the library and cleared any fines on your account. Questions? Please contact Jimmy Hilton, our circulation manager.
Best wishes as you begin the semester! ~Bonnie
